MARK FORD
Mark Ford has never been your traditional accountant, despite receiving traditional training. He’ll tell you if you ask him that his best attributes are problem solving, loyalty and a keen desire to teach.
Finishing his articles at Deloitte, Mark spent some time travelling and working in the US and Europe before arriving back in sunny South Africa. Having worked in different geographies and within various industries, the entrepreneurial spirit led him to start Equate Group to meet a desire in SME’s to have a partner that was able to execute on strategy and ensure the best in legal and statutory compliance.
Mark understands that being “The Boss” is often a lonely journey, which is why his management style is based on developing relationships with the business owner, and to encourage long-term thinking over the lifecycle of the business.
DANIEL FORD
While Daniel qualified as an accountant he is an entrepreneur at heart who has spent his years understanding what makes a business tick from the minute details to the results. He has a passion for business owners and the daily struggles they experience.
He has gained experience in a range of sectors and industries and has an intimate knowledge of the intricacies of each.
He is able to identify both unseen risk and the solution in any business venture or strategy. He is a thinker and works with all the available information before reaching a decision. A seasoned entrepreneur who is a founder of the Equate Group.
MARIETTE STUART
Mariette started with the Equate group in 2015 in the role of operations director and as we have grown and expanded our offerings, she moved into a more specific role as director of payroll administration.
She has vast knowledge and experience working with Sage and Vip payroll for over 8 years and as a graduate of the University of Johannesburg is well suited in her role.
Mariette is an avid equestrian and competes regularly in show jumping events.
MALI MOTHIBA
Mali heads up Equate Advisory within the Equate Group. As a natural entrepreneur with an education in finance he is as asset to most businesses.
His experience in setting up businesses spans the African continent and is across multiple industries. He has the ability to guide business owners including start-ups and businesses going through all the stages of the business cycle.
He is a valued board member in a number of companies and has guided Equate Advisory in it building its investment portfolio of unlisted SA companies.
